doctor day

Today was doctor day at the Duncan house. We had Vera's 12 month well check up this morning. She did great considering she had 5 shots.
Her stats:
Weight- 24.1 lbs. 90%tile
Height- 29 1/2 inches 75%tile
The doctor loved where she was and we loved watching her walk with all the other kids in the waiting room! She took a 4 hour nap after her appointment and was her normal self afterwards! She had to sleep it off....


And I had a doctor appointment this afternoon. My blood pressure was great and I only gained 1 pound. The babies heartbeat sounded great and she asked Vera is she could hear her brothers heartbeat? hummmmmm...........

Emma Koontz

The Koontz Family was over last night.... Baby Einstein was more important than Emma. Not sure if she would feel that way if Mommy was holding her....

Charlie Brown Tree

Now that Vera is walking and into everything we thought a big tree might not be a good idea. How many times would we have to pull her away and say NO. Although we wanted a big tree with colored lights and our family ornaments we opted for a small charlie brown tree. We will have a 7 month old possibly crawling next year so we thought it was a good investment. Got a picture of one of our many bengal ornaments to celebrate their awesome win yesterday! GO BENGALS.....

Haircut

Miss Vera had another haircut yesterday. She was getting shaggy... I am trying to capture some picture of her walking but it has been tough. By the time I get the video up and running she has taken a tumble. This is the best video I could get....Everyday she keeps getting better and better. She is having trouble turning and walking but today she stood up without any help. I could not believe it. I love watching her walk and keeping her balance. She loves when Mommy and Daddy cheer after she falls!
Where did my baby go? She is getting so big.....

I put Clay and Chris to work today.... We put our outdoor lights up! Tomorrow we are working on the inside! Vera loved the lights!

Brushing your teeth

We heard this song from Aunt Kelly while she helped Ella brush her teeth! Vera loves it too! This morning Daddy was brushing his teeth and Vera grabbed her toothbrush and started brushing too! Such a smart baby!

Happy Turkey Day

This is Vera's 2nd Thanksgiving but I could not resist this outfit! Not only did Vera eat some yummy turkey, dressing and mash potatoes but she officially started walking. She has been taking lots of steps but tonight was the first time she went from one object to the next all by herself. GO VERA!!!

Vera's God Father, Chris came up from St. Petersburg for Thanksgiving. He got her an Elmo phone and she loves it!

She's Legal

For some of you who don't know this Vera is finally legal! Federal Law states that you child cannot face forward in a carseat until they are over 20 pounds AND 1 year old. YEAH! We had the 20 pounds a while ago but we had to wait until she turned One. Might not be a big deal to you, but it is super exciting for us. Vera has so much to look at now and I can finally see her!
This is not all that happens when you turn ONE! No more formula... Vera is starting to drink regular milk now. She got her 12 month molars too. Those back teeth are brutal when they come in. 10 teeth now and she is getting two more. She has also taken more and more steps. We are not sure when we are officially going to say she is walking, but for now she is taking 4-5 steps alone!
My Vera Boo is growing up so fast....

oh boy Daddy

After Vera's Party we just wanted to chill out.... Good thing Daddy finished these beers before Vera got a hold of them! Grandma Carol and I could not stop laughing at Vera. What were you thinking Daddy!

Staying warm

Thanks Pappa Norm for the warm coat, hat and mittens for Vera's birthday! We stayed warm in Cinci and when we visit you in Montana they will be cozy too!

Who Dey

Uncle Nash and Clay went to the Bengals game to watch them loose, again. While they watched a horrible game, Aunt Kelly, Pappa Norm and I had a great time hanging out with the kids.....

Vera's Big Day

The party was a success. Vera enjoyed her very first sweet and got lots of presents. Clay missed his flight but managed to make it just a little late. Great food, good football on TV and spending time with friends and family. What more could you ask for!

Chucky Cheese

Granny Candy wanted to take Vera to Chucky Cheese for lunch today. SHE LOVED IT!
Aunt Annie helped me out by taking her on all the rides! Nana was amazed at how much pizza she ate! I have a picture of myself on the same ride Vera is on in the first few pictures when I was Vera's age. Although my version was not as high tech as hers but I thought it was still neat.....

Birthday shopping

Pappa Norm took Vera and I to the mall this morning. We were not prepared for this freezing cold weather. We are spoiled in Alabama with beautiful sunny 70 degree weather. So, Pappa bought her an adorable coat, hat and mittens for her birthday. I will post pics of it because she is so adorable in it. Here are some of us at the mall. We got there early and snuck into Santa's area!

I can't believe my baby is 1 year old.... I am having a hard time believing a year went bye already. It seems like just yesterday I was heading to the hospital to get induced. Clay and I ask ourselves often what we did before Vera and we don't know. We never thought we could love something so much. Our love for her is unconditional....

3 months pregnant with Vera

3 months pregnant!!!!

I have had some questions asked since people told me I was pregnant like are you showing faster with this one since it is my second time. So, here is a 3 months before and now. I have only gained 1 pound but look at me grow! The other question is am I feeling different wtih this one and the answer is yes and no. I am not as nausous. I was always hungry with Vera and nothing sounds good now. But I am very tired. I crave my afternoon nap!Thursday I will be into my second trimester and hope that I will start feeling better!!! People ask me if I want a boy or girl too. My answer, either. I would like a boy to complete the set. But, I would love a girl because they would only be 18 months apart and be close friends. Either way I SCORE!
