Weekend Fun

We finally got a weekend! We can't remember the last time we had a weekend alone? The weather is beautiful so we took advantage.
Vera is really interested in walking now. She will hold onto your fingers now and walk forever. She is cruising around furniture like it is her job! It will be soon...

Check out Miss Vera learning to walk...

We're Home

We made it back yesterday afternoon from Cincinnati. The trip was great but we are glad to be home. Vera got sick while on our trip and after a doctor visit today we found out she has her first ear infection along with a cold. The doctor said I caught it fast so she should be well soon. She was bound to get sick being around so many kids and people. Don't worry, Mommy will take good care of her....

Vera did great on the flight. She slept both flights once on Daddy and once on Mommy. Here she is waiting to get off the plane enjoying her book with daddy.

Yes, this is Vera eating again... But, she is eating KETCHUP. As you notice I am not anywhere near it. YUCK

Check out Vera walking on my leg!

Fun at the Dreyer's

We spent the day at Nash and Kelly's house on Sunday. They have a 70" flat screen to watch the Bengals get beat. The kids had a blast together! Pappa Norm is probably sore after playing with them!

Grandpa Gaddis

We met up with Clay's Dad, Dave for breakfast on Sunday! It was a beautiful morning!

Dreyer Open

The Dreyer Open was a success. My brother, Nash was in charge this year and he did a fantastic job. His wife, Kelly cooked homemade lasagna for 90 people. The guys had fun golfing and we enjoyed catching up with family.

Ladies Lunch

I had some ladies over for my favorite, Larosa's Pizza! Check out the play date we had!

climbing

We were shocked to see what a great job Vera was doing with the stairs since this is the first time she has seen them. I just love seeing her interact with her cousins. This is what is so hard part about living so far away.

We are here....

We have arrived in Cincinnati save and sound....
Vera was fantastic. She loved looking out the window of the plane. She is a seasoned flyer so we did not expect anything but a good baby. Her 10th flight!
She is sleeping in her room at Grandma's for another jammed packed weekend.

fun at the airport

During our layover in Atlanta there was a playground at our gate. She had a blast climbing all over!

Metze Family

Clay and I stopped by the Metze's house today for an early (Skyline) dinner. Granny and Grandpa were so happy to see Vera, oh and us too!......

Memorial

On September 11th our friend, Scott Shimp was in a fatal helicopter accident. There helicopter hit wires during a foggy flight and left 3 soldiers dead. Clay was contacted immediately and spent the rest of the week contacting people they worked with. Clay and Scott were platoon leaders at Fort Carson. They were roommates during their first tour to Iraq. We have found memories of Scott and he will always be remembered as a great friend and a proud soldier. His memorial service was yesterday at Fort Campbell Kentucky were he was stationed. We drove up Sunday evening and returned Monday evening. Please say a prayer for peace for his parents, brother and sister.

Tempelton Family

Aviation is a small part of a big army. Our friends, Brent and Brook from Fort Carson and recently we were together at Rucker are now stationed at Fort Campbell. They were gracious enoug to let us crash at there house Sunday night. They have a 3 month old boy that we finally got to meet! We also met up with Joe and Jenny McCarthy. Clay met him during his SERE training and they became fast friends. We got to have lunch with them too. Although it was a very sad day it was nice to see some friends again.

Clay loved holding a little baby again! Check out that grin!

I did too!!!!

Brooke watched Vera during the memorial. BJ loved watching Vera play and move all around the house! THANKS SO MUCH BROOKE!

The boys lovin on Miss Vera!

Rocking Chair

We stopped at Cracker Barrell (Clay's Favorite) on the way home from Fort Campbell. They have small rocking chairs now and Vera loved it! Check out the video. Yes, that is Vera rocking herself....
