Getaway...

Clay, Vera and I are in Florida for a little getaway..
Clay needed a little R&R after his course so we packed up the bags and headed south.

As you can see in the pictures Vera stole the show yesterday. Clay was so happy to see his daughter after three weeks of no communication. The first thing he wanted to do was see us and love all over Vera. She acted like he was never gone which made both of our days! I was worried because she has a little stranger anxiety right now and is Mommy's girl too.
We had some friends stay with us too while they out processed to leave Fort Rucker. Luke and Joe enjoyed playing with Vera while I gave the guys haircuts. I'm not sure if you can tell but Clay lost some weight and is still tired. We have been enjoying taking naps when Vera naps!

Welcome Home

Vera and I picked Clay up this morning at 10am. There was a small ceremony where they recieved certificates and got de-briefed. Clay was so happy to see us. He says it was one of the hardest things he has ever done. We are so happy to have him home!

We're Back

Vera and I made it home Friday night around 10:30pm. We had some delays on the way home but she still did fantastic. You would never know that there was a time change with her but I sure feel it! I'm beat.
Clay is due to arrive home tomorrow. I am anxiously waiting a phone call to pick him up!
Enjoy all the videos from my trip to Cincinnati. Vera is so lucky to have cousins to play with. They had a blast together. I tried to capture as much as I could on video to show Clay what his baby girl did while he was gone....

My Grandparents were in town and spend the afternoon with Ella, William and Vera. They got some alone time with Vera while the other two were taking a nap....

Tomorrow Vera and I head back to Alabama. It has been great visiting with family and friends but I am ready to go home. I can't wait to get back to our house, my bed and soon Clay. We did so much while we were home and tried to visit everyone!

I don't think we will return again until November for Vera's 1st Birthday. I am worn out from traveling and hate doing it without Clay. I want to thanks some people for making the effort to travel and see us. I know how much work it is to travel and it means so much to me that you come out to see us. I do always feel like we have to come up here so for Carol, Candy, Norm, Vera, Nash, Kelly, Dave K., Brandy and Chris H. to make the effort really means a lot. Carol, Candy, Nana and Norm have been to each base several times to visit. The invitiation is always open for any visitors to come see us. We are very close to the beach and get great rates in Destin.

I will post to let everyone know we arrived home safe and again when Clay comes home!

Vera went to the zoo for the first time with Grandma Candy. I think she enjoyed the kids all around more than the animals.....

My good friend, Carissa (friends since 5th grade) came over to see Vera and go to dinner. She hugged Vera so hard she spit up on her! It was too funny.

Vera and I went over to my friend, Sarah's house for dinner. She has a son, Jacob who is 14 months. Vera looks like she could be Sarah's daughter. Jacob and Vera had there first kiss tonight! Maybe we can tell them we saw their first kiss when they were babies!

Father's Day Fun

Unfortunately we were not able to celebrate Father's Day with Clay. He is still in SERE training. Right now he is probably captured. Getting interegated, starved and beaten for training purposes. Pray that he stays strong and doesn't spill the beans....

Vera and I spent the day with her Grandma Carol, PapPa Norm, Uncle Nash, Aunt Kelly, Ella and William. We went to my Mom's pool and had a blast in the water. All three kids are water babies. We have to pull them out of the water! PapPa Norm even got in the water and had a blast with them. When we got back to the house the kids played together. They were all giggles!

We missed Daddy on his special day, but we will make up for it when he gets home. Clay is a wonderful Father. I am proud to call him my husband! We can't wait for him to return.......

7 Months Old

I can't believe it has been 7 months already. She cut her first tooth today. We were hoping she would wait until we got home to Daddy but the tooth has cut through.... She sticks her tongue out all the time now. I am assuming she is feeling it poke through.

BJ

Our friends from Fort Carson and now are at Fort Rucker had their baby boy. His name is Steven Brent Jr. or BJ for short. They are heading to Fort Campell Kentucky as soon as BJ has his two week well checkup. We will miss you guys.

Thursday

Some of you blogging visitors might wonder why I take so many pictures of Vera. I am passionate about pictures. I have always enjoyed taken pictures but even more now that I have such a beautiful baby to take pictures. I have been taken a lot so Clay can see what Vera and I were up to while he was gone. We are just counting down the days till we get to see him again....

Kings Island

Kelly and I took our kids to Kings Island today. We went to the waterpark and it was fun. We took their red wagon and all three kids loved being carted around while Kelly and I wore ourselves out.....
