Helping Hand

My Mom babysat Vera who has a bad cold while my Sister-in-Law, Kelly and I traveled down to Good Samaritan Hospital last night to visit a friend. She is 25 weeks pregnant with twins on bed rest. Due to some complications she will be on bed rest until the babies are born. Being pregnant is hard enough but to be stuck in a hospital bed too would be so rough. Kelly asked me if I would go down there and cut Ric's hair for her since she can't get out! Here are a few pictures of us! Please keep Ric in your prayers for a safe delivery and a speedy recovery for her babies.......

SUPRISE

Last week Clay and I were talking about his busy upcoming week. He was tasked the OIC for their class capstone. OIC means Officer In Charge of 150 officers... That might be chinese to some of you but to us that means he will be working his tail off. Clay came up with the bright idea for me to go to Cincinnati to suprise my cousin for her Baby Shower. As you all know Carrie and I have been best buds since birth so to be there meant a lot to me. She was shocked! It was a great surprise! I am sorry I did not tell anyone I was coming but I wanted it to be a true suprise!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Tonight Clay and I gave Vera cereal for the first time... SHE LOVED IT!
When I made it both Clay and I said there is no way she will eat this much, but she did. She swallowed great and didn't make too much of a mess. We had a great time watching her figure it out. Something new for Mommy and Vera to do now! Check out more pictures on my Photo Album.

5 Years

Today Clay and I celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary! We are thrilled to be celebrating it together. Most of our anniversary's are spent apart due to the war. Last year we found out we were pregnant on our anniversary! Many wonderful things have happened to us over these past 5 years. I could not imagine spending my life with anyone else. I don't want to get too sappy but I love him and can't wait to celebrate many more years together!

4 Months Old

Today was Vera's 4 month doctor appointment. We met with a new doctor and 2 hours later we got her vacinnations done. She was a trooper and kept flirting with the doctor.
She weighs 15 pounds and is now in the 75%tile for 4 month olds
Her head is still big (like Mom and Dad's) 90%tile
She is going to be short like her Dad too 50%tile
The doctor recommended that she start on cereal. The doctor made us laugh when he thought her head was misshaped until he flatened her hair and realized it was just all that hair sticking up on one side! He found a heart murmur but he was not concerned with it. He says that there are good murmurs and bad murmurs and hers was good. (meaning nothing to be concerned about) It is hereditary and Clay just found out he has one. They are still going to monitor it at her 6 month well check up.
I was concerned that she dropped from 90% to 75% on weight. First the doctor laughed because she is still in the 75%tile for 4 months. But, we think it is a combination of my breast milk slowing down, being ready for cereal and missing a meal in the middle of the night. He was shocked to hear she was sleeping through the night and recommened we get her up after 11 hours to feed. I told him I wanted her back up in the 90%tile and again he laughed at me and said she is so healthy now just look at her rolls!
She didn't cry when they gave her the shots but did when the medicine went in. Atleast she is so young that she doesn't get it. My friend informed me that the next vaccination she will look at me like why did you let them do that..... I will blame it on Daddy!
It is still hard to believe that Vera is 4 months old already.. TIME GOES BY SOOO FAST. Clay and I are trying to enjoy every moment!

Daddy's Girl

Vera's Uncle Nash got Clay this Back Pack Carrier and today we finally got to use it. The weather has been beautiful here and the reports say not for much longer so we took Vera for a walk today. Usually I take her in the stroller but Daddy wanted to take her this time! My husband is wrapped so tight around my little girls finger......

4 Generations

24 years ago we had this 4 generation picture taken. My Great Grandma Nash, Grandma Colleen, my Mom and myself. Those are some good looking woman! I hope I age like my Grandma and Mom! Again, I'm not sure where Vera got that dark hair.... (I think she got it from her Great Uncle Scott)Now Vera has created another 4 Generations. I hope to one day get a 4 generation with a Granddaughter.....

Thursday

Thursday was a pretty chill day for Vera and I. I watched my nephew Will while my Mom took Ella to dance class. My friend from highschool, Amber stopped by to meet Vera. That afternoon I had dinner at my Aunt Mindy's house. My cousin and her went nuts over Vera (except for when she pooped all over me).

Wednesday

Carrie met Vera and I to go get proffesional pictures taken. Vera did great and I think we got some great pictures. View the slide above and check out my photo album.
Wednesday was hair day too. I cut and colored Kelly, her Mom and her good friends hair. I was happy to do it and it helped pay for all the clothes a bought for Vera. She is growing like a weed. I had to buy 6 month clothes because she has grown out of her 3 month and most of her 3-6 month clothes. Carrie came over for dinner to get some more Vera time too. Poor girl is swollen and has pregnancy carpel tunnel.....
