My parents came up with Vera again to visit. This time my Mom stayed and Clay went home. Clay needed a good night sleep and time with Vera and I wanted some help from my Mom (they are the best!)........... Charlie got circumcised (poor guy) and slept most of the morning. I was concerned we would have a rough night but he did fantastic! He is a good eater and good sleeper like his big sister!

he came on his due date...
The Story...
I started having contractions on Wednesday around 4ish. They were 15 minutes apart and not that strong. By 1am they were every 5 minutes apart and strong. Clay and I headed up to the hospital and by the time we got there they were 3 minutes apart and very painful. I got my epideral and soon after my water broke or you could say, gushed. I progressed so rapidly that Charlie's heart rate could not keep up. We tried everything to get it back up but in the end I was rushed in for an emergency c-section. It was very scary but I felt well taken care of and knew this was what was best for his health. He was a big baby, head facing the wrong way and refused to drop into the birth canal.
I am recovering nicely and hope to go home tomorrow..... I think he looks just like me as a baby minus the forehead (dead ringer of Dad's). He is nursing great and Miss Vera does not seem to phase him one bit. I can now say I have experienced all types of labor... I have been induced, natural childbirth, natural labor progression and a c-section. I think that is a sign I am done.... Before my epideral I told Clay he could go get an vasectomy and that we were done (boy those contractions hurt). God just gave us a true blessing! A girl and boy, what more can you ask for....
Thanks for all the comments! Clay won the ExpectNet contest unless you count Amy's two guesses...!

40 weeks
I had another doctor appointment this morning. Everything is going well. I have gained 30 pounds total and my blood pressure is great. I am swelling in the evening and very slow these days. I am one centimeter dialated and my cervix is very thin. My doctor says most second time babies do not drop (don't dialate). Your cervix thins out and they come after that.... She estimates he is already 8 pounds already. If he does not come by Friday morning I will be induced.....
I promise to keep everyone posted.... In the mean time my parents are here helping us finish up around the house and get ready for baby Charlie to arrive. We are all excited and anxious for our new addition......

well baby
Vera had her 18 month well-baby checkup today.
I was counting on Clay to join me to help but he is in bed with the flu that I had on Saturday.....
She did not get her shots today due to timing. So, next week we have to bring her back in.The doctor was very impressed with Vera and just like Uncle Nash says, "She is a genius!"...
Stats:
BIG HEAD: 20" 95%
Weight: 26lbs 6oz 75%
Length: 32" 75%

Another doctor appointment today..... No progression even after all the hard work I have been doing. Charlie loves my belly and wants to keep me up at night, exhaust me and surge my hormones a little longer. We are hoping he holds out through the long weekend so we can enjoy time with our friends and Clay's free time off. Plus my parents are arriving on Sunday to watch Vera for us when I do go into labor. My next appointment is Tuesday so I will keep you posted....
vera's room
I know everyone has been waiting for pictures of the new house... The most important room of all, MISS V!
We added a big girl bed for her to explore. We are not pressuring her but especially since a new baby will arrive soon. Vera and Charlie's room are connected by a jack and jill bathroom! SO CUTE!
