sick guy

We know the seasons are changing when Charlie starts getting his cold/wheezing.... We hope with the right meds we can keep it under control and stay clear of hospital stays this winter, especially since Daddy is gone!!!!
At the doctor he weighed in at 29 pounds!!!! The doctor (our brand new neighbor and chief of peds) could not get over how strong he was! Our future football star.

night gown

My kids are spoiled rotten by my Mom with clothes, toys and lots of visits! She drives 10 hours down from Ohio once a month to see the kids! That is one dedicated Grandma and never comes empty handed! This night gown is from Grandma and Vera loves it! She felt like a princess!
As Vera would say...."THANKS GRANNA CAROL!"

fall clothes

The kids and I traveled down to Destin Friday morning to do some fall clothes shopping. I was on a mission and was very successful.
I am not like most women and love shoes. I could have a pair of flip flops and gym shoes and be satisfied. Not my daughter... She loves them and spots them in any store we go too. Last week she found a pair of pink converse "chucks" and had to have them and today it was brown boots along with this adorable hat. Once she put it on it stayed on and the boots too! How could I not purchase it, she looks down right adorable!!! I was not the only one who thought this too. Everyone passing us would say something to me. "Oh, look how cute she is, and look at that beautiful hair!!!!" She's stunning!

Charlie has been doing this for quite some time now but I never get an opportunity to video it... ENJOY!!!

p.s. Vera has fifth's disease, a virus that causes a rash. No biggy but they put her on steriods and boy did she have the side effects. So excuse the whinning and screaming at the end....

missing daddy

Clay left on the 13th for Hunstville, Alabama where he will spend 3 months. He has been selected to join the Aquisition Corp in the Army and has to attend some courses. This is a huge step in his military career and I am so proud of him! The kids and I are staying home since we got reassigned to Fort Rucker and will be stationed here till 2011. We are thrilled and excited to see what the future in aquisition holds for our family!

staph infection

We spent Labor Day at the hospital with Vera. She had what looked like a pimple on her leg that I saw on Friday on our way up to Nashville. I asked her if it hurt and she said no and we let it go and had a great weekend and Vera was fine. When we arrived home on Sunday she was in a large amount of pain and would not put any weight on her leg. After poking and prying at it we decided to give her some Motrin, Benadryl and mark the spot to see if it grew. She slept half the night with Clay and I and the other half with Grandma. When she woke up the sore was three times the size and she was in even more pain. We left Charlie with Grandma and headed up to the hospital. The doctors confirmed she had a staph infection and they needed to cut it open to get the infection out. After a dose of antibiotic and pain meds they drapped her up like a mummy and with two nurses and Clay and I cut my poor baby's leg up. The got the yucky stuff out and packed it sent us home with some pain meds and antibiotic. She was a sick little girl for a few days and than turned a corner and was our little Vera again! At the follow up appointment we got a thumbs up and instruction on how to keep it away. Thankfully we had lots of family in town to help us out and she got lots of attention! I was not in the mind set to take pictures so these camera phone shots will have to do. No one would want to see her poor leg anyway......

fun with family

We had lot's of family in town for Clay's change of command ceremony and farewell party. Candy, Dave, Carol, Norm, and Grandma and Grandpa Dreyer all took time out of their lives to celebrate with us! We are so lucky to have wonderful families! They stayed at the cabins on the lake on the military base and it was great! We can't wait for them to visit again!

daddy flying

Clay flew while the family was in town and we went to the local park to watch him fly. He got low for us and we got to wave to him! Charlie LOVES helicopters and pointing at them when he sees them! What a highlight for a Father and Son!
Sometimes I forget that my husband flies helicopters for the Army. WHAT A COOL JOB!
