Clay could not wait get Vera in the pool. Grandpa heated up to bathwater for us. Our fearless daughter loved the slide and jumping off the side of the pool! Check out that cute bum!

doc appointment

We started off Christmas Eve with an appointment with the OBGYN. At a regular appointment they check your blood pressure, weight and hear the babies heartbeat. My blood pressure was great and I only gained one pound. The babies heartbeat was nice and strong too!
The doctor asked if there was anything else she could do for us.. So, I asked if she could sneak us into the ultrasound room to find out the gender. I told her it would be a great Christmas gift for our family!
AND......

WE FOUND OUT IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the steam on the apple! I had a hunch it was a boy. I have had a completely different pregnancy this time. When the ultrasound tech froze the screen I yelled out, "that's a penis." The tears started rolling down and Clay and I both looked at each other and smiled. Vera had no clue what was going on but Clay hugged her and said, "you will always be my little girl!". After the appointment we headed straight to the mall for a baby boy outfit!
We can't wait to meet Charles David Duncan!

blue eyed bengal

GO BENGALS! Although we aren't going to see them play for a championship or a superbowl we are still Bengals fans! Check out those big blue eyes!

Vera has turned into a Daddy's Girl. I can not believe how attached she is to him right now. When he leaves a room she follows him. He tried to go to work to catch up on some emails and she cried at the door so he stayed home. I can't believe a 1 year old has so much power! He had to take a business call this afternoon and went into the office. She thought he left and this is what she did.....
Don't worry I took her to him right after I put the camera down!

Moxley Christmas

We got home on Tuesday and Wednesday morning we were off to Nashville, TN to meet Clay's Mom and Nana. I know we are crazy... Here is a slide show of our trip. Granny Candy, Annie and Nana spoiled Vera again! Check out all her new toys!...

next is first class!

As you can see from the video, a 3 hour and 55 minute flight is too long for a 13 month old.... We managed though and had a blast in Montana.
On the way home Vera got to sit by herself on the way from Atlanta to Dothan (30 minute flight). She thought she was such a big girl with Daddy. I love these photos!

livingston

While the guys were on aventure Gen and I took a trip to Livingston. I was able to get my haircut while Gen watched over Vera. Than we shopped in downtown at the cute boutiques. I picked up Vera's Christmas PJ's that are too cute!

We are heading back to Alabama today. We get in late and than head up to Nashville, TN for a mini vacation with the Moxley family........

snowmobile

My Dad and Clay had yet another adventure in Montana. They went to West Yellowstone to do some snowmobiling. They were all alone and had a blast. I missed out on a lot of cool things this trip due to my pregnancy but I am so glad Clay got to experience Montana in the winter!

what is new with vera

I feel like Miss Vera has been doing so many new things that I don't get to capture for everyone. I thought I would share them for all those Grandma's, Great Grandma's, Great Grandpa's, Grandpa's, Great Aunt's, Aunt's, Uncle's and God Mother's who check out duncansmiracle.....

Although we work on sign language with Vera she seems to want to speak instead. I think she is taking after her cousin Ella and talking early. She says, mo-mo-mo for more and do-gggg for dog. When I pointed to a picture of her cousin Ella and said her name, she repeats it. Her newest word is Uh-Oh when something goes wrong! HOW CUTE!

She loves to point at things right now. When you ask where something is (like a dog or ceiling fan) she will piont at it and try to say the word!

Her walking has improved so much. Before when she would fall she would finish up by crawling. But now that she can get up un-assisted and realizes she can go much faster, all she does is walk. She can pivot like a pro too! By the time we visit family in Florida she will be running!

She has 12 teeth now. She got her top 12 month molars a few weeks ago and they were a bear. The bottom two we didn't know about until we noticed them ourselves! She has a mouth full!

Pappa Norm taught her how to feed herself and now that is all she wants to do. She can use a spoon and fork! We are in for some messy meals now!

The funniest new thing she is doing is giving a HIGH FIVE! I taught her about a week ago and she loves it! I will try to get video of it for everyone.

We are so proud of our daughter and I know my family is too! Thanks for letting me brag on her!......

yellowstone national park

We took a drive to Yellowstone yesterday. It is a beautiful site to see and the wildlife is great. We did not get to see any bears because they were hybernating but we found one at the local resturant!
My little one year old has done more traveling in one year than most people do their whole life. She has lived in Missouri and Alabama. Traveled to Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and Montana. She has flown over a dozen times. She takes after her Mother!

Yes, it is freezing here and super windy but look at what they get to look at everyday!
